Singer Bunny Walters dies

Iconic Maori singer Bunny Walters has died at the age of 63 after battling a short illness.
Walters arrived on the New Zealand music scene with his single ‘Reach’ in 1969. But it was two years later when Walters really shot to fame, with his popular single ‘Brandy’. Walters’ body will be taken to Rereatukahia marae in Katikati, where he will lay until Saturday. He died on Wednesday morning in Waikato Hospital, with friends and family around him.
